Human remains found near Snohomish County’s Kayak Point
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating after human remains were found Wednesday near Kayak Point in Snohomish County.

Two hikers discovered human remains Wednesday near Kayak Point, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The remains were found off 140th Street Northwest, between Marine Drive and Kayak Point Road. That section of road will be closed through Thursday afternoon as detectives investigate, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating human remains found Saturday at or near a home in the Lake Stevens area.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 1 p.m. Saturday that remains were found by a home owner in the 12000 block of 7th Place SE. Sheriff’s Office investigators as well as the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office drove to the scene.
The age, sex of the body found and cause of death are unknown at this time. It is also unknown if the remains are associated with a known missing persons investigation, deputies said.
Little other information was immediately available.
Identification of the human remains will be released by the medical examiner’s office.
LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- Snohomish County officials are investigating a body found beside a road in Lynnwood.
Sheriff's spokesman Shari Ireton said someone called around 9:30 a.m. Thursday to report they spotted a body in the 19700 block of S Danvers Road.
Investigating fire department officials confirmed a deceased person was on the road. Officials say the person was a white male with some kind of trauma to the head. They did not release any other details about the victim.
The medical examiner recovered the body and was conducting an autopsy.
