CrimeWiseUSA Washington
The Case and Investigation of
Patti Krieger 2012
Homicide
CrimeWiseUSA Observes
It appears that there exists a high level of trepidation by those responsible to investigate the case of Angela Gilbert and all of Cover Cases that came before; because of the level of violence surrounding the cases; and, the person's of interest identified in the case.
The investigators do not appear to see the patterns, listen to the talk in the community or watch YouTube.
They just "don't" so much that it is hard to figure out what they "do."
Sure, it is scary to go out and talk to these guys and maybe get hurt yourself. But, you know what? That is why they give the authorities badges.
Having a badge and the color of law that goes along with it should make it easier to march up to one of these mooks and take care of business.
If you have a badge and don't do this then please get another job - or at the least - get out of the detective or investigation one.

This is not rocket science.

If the foregoing is true, then not only is Angela and our other victims not going to receive the justice they deserve; and, the perpetrators will not stop with these suspected foul play cases and Colt Lee White's actual death.
With Angela's case, a pattern of missing persons in Skagit and Snohomish Counties "do not mean much to those tasked with finding them" has become clearer to CrimeWiseUSA.
There are 68 outstanding missing person's cases in Snohomish County. Most of the cases that have been solved in the recent past were solved by hikers and stumble-bums (not authorities).
Yes, Angela had a vast amount of problems and a long list of anti-social activities on her rap-sheet; but, those are just symptomatic of other indicators.
They are not a basis upon which she is measured to determine her worth to be looked for and found.                                     CrimeWiseUSA believes that since the authorities have not been taken to task for all of the unsolved cases as of yet, and it appears that they never will - they are pretty safe "sitting back and waiting for someone to come in with new information."
The biggest downside of this attitude is that the citizens of these counties have little respect for the authorities; choose to not call them for assistance; take care of personal business personally; and, share their negative experiences with one another which cements the antidotal evidence into fact.
"What is true is what people believe to be true  -  not the facts or pictures to the contrary."
It is apparent to CrimeWiseUSA that the people believe that they are on their own when it comes to violent crimes and missing persons. So believed - then - so true.

Just an observation.
According to the Official Guide for Visitors to Sauk Mountain by the Forest Service -

1. - Sauk Mountain Trail #613
Stay to the left for Sauk Mountain; the spur trail to the right drops for 1.5 miles to Sauk Lake. The last half-mile of the main trail swings north to the top of the ridge.
The trail switchbacks gently 26 times in the first 1.5 miles.
The last half-mile of the main trail swings north to the top of the ridge and the site of an abandoned fire lookout (elevation 5330 feet).
A 360-degree panorama of the North Cascades is provided at the old lookout site. On a clear day, Mt. Rainier can be seen to the south, Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands to the west, and the rugged Cascade peaks stretching to the east.
Because of its easy accessibility, the trail is heavily used.
Directions:
From Sedro-Woolley, follow State Route 20 east for 32.0 miles. At milepost 96 near the boundary of Rockport State Park, turn left on the Sauk Mountain Road (Forest Service Road #1030). Follow Road #1030 for 7.0 miles to the junction of Road #1036. Turn right on Road #1036 and follow to the road's end.
2.  -  Green Trails Lake Shannon No. 46;
Short and sweet and just a tad bit steep, a score-plus set of switchbacks sets you on your way to this scenic summit.
A familiar landmark in the Skagit Valley, with its hogback summit and verdant meadow-draped western slopes, Sauk Mountain is recognizable from I-5. It's a popular hike, best avoided on sunny summer weekends.
Virtually the entire way is in the open; the first half of the hike is entirely within meadows
The way steadily gains elevation and occasionally and briefly dips into cool forest groves.
After 1.3 miles of steady climbing, crest the hogback ridge (elev. 5200 ft). Views: south to the confluence of the Sauk and Skagit, the Finney Block, Glacier Peak, and Whitehorse. Look east to the Helen Buttes, the Pickets, Teebone Ridge, and the big green valley cut by the Cascade River.
Now the trail turns north to head for the summit. At 1.5 miles, come to a junction. The trail right loses 1200 feet on its way to Sauk Lake.
Stay left and soon you'll be able to see Sauk Lake.
The final stretch traverses a somewhat rocky area where lingering snowfields may warrant some caution.
Once on the 5537-foot summit, turn around and return.
What folks are saying about Patti
Some comments from the internet concerning Patti's case are:

"This needs to be investigated more deeply."

"Our lives have been filled with fear, doubt, concern, chaos and a huge sense of loss since Patti went missing. The Skagit County Sheriff's office has let us down and has dropped the ball once again."

"There is no CSI Mount Vernon, there are both a lack of funds and lack of interest from our local law enforcement." ". . . they can't find evidence if it was already covered up"

"There is such a thing called circumstantial evidence and there is a load of that in this case....Unfortunatley (sp) that kind of evidence is not enough to arrest some . . ."

"If he (Larry Lee) really didn't rape that little girl it WOULD HAVE been taken off his criminal record PERIOD!"

From 10-15-2010
The search for a missing Skagit County woman is now part of a legal battle.
A week and a half has passed since Patty Krieger disappeared on Sauk Mountain.
While her family and friends continue to hold out hope in finding her, the focus on Monday was on her house.
Krieger has lived at her Mount Vernon home for eight years, most recently with her boyfriend, Larry Pressley.
On Monday, friends spread word out about a new Facebook page dedicated to finding Krieger.
But when they arrived at the house to inform Pressley of the news, he was already packing up her stuff onto a pickup truck. Krieger's son, Alan Patterson, was frustrated by what he found.
"Beer cans everywhere - looked like they were having a good old time in here," he said.
"And they were too busy loading up the truck, trying to get stuff out of the house.
Maybe they could be up on the mountain, doing a little bit of something to help this situation." "One way or another I need to bring her home - my family needs closure," he says. "We bring her home, I think it's going to help a lot with the grieving process."
"Few things I am thinking about. Her son said she is a millionaire. Strange behavior for somebody.
And why was she still working at the grocery store if she had all that money.
I believe it was made by her and her second husband who died."

"There's a way we can keep you safe, were you can give us the information we need to get some closure on this situation," Patterson said.                             "This woman deserves that.
She spent her whole life taking care of other people, it would be nice to see somebody do a little something to help take care of her."

"You know when her son made an appearance I thought, boy he needs to be careful.
This seems like a rough bunch he is dealing with."

Drive-By Shooting at Patti's Family Members House
"A local family member of Patti's had their house shot up last night in a drive by shooting.
Please pray for the safety of the entire family during this difficult time and the safe return of Patty and Bear".
"The person whose house was shot at is VERY afraid for their and their familys safety.
They do not want information on their home to be made public.
For this reason, we are not releasing anymore detailed information.
This same person's house has had numerous recent instances of people sitting outside their house for unknown reasons as well.
They are unsure of the persons motives for being there, and yes they have called the police.
Oddly enough, the person leaves shortly before the police arrive, making the family wonder if they have a scanner and are listening to the police dispatch or ?????"                     "This is important because there are so many different things about Patti Krieger's Missing Persons case that point to foul play instead of it being just a missing persons case.
We feel there is enough evidence that It is important to invite the F.B.I into the investigation and to follow up on those who were last known to have been with Patti when she went missing."
"Patti was a hard working, loyal woman who would never be involved in a crime if she had any knowledge of it, though she constantly took in those who needed help".
"It bothers me to think that both Patti and I live in a country where disappearances, ransom notes, etc. are not of great concern to anyone but the family and friends of the missing person."
"Search your heart and ask yourself what you would do if this was a member of your family.
To what length would you go to in order to have someone listen?"
"Patti deserves the chance to have someone great stand behind her, support her cause, and based on recent ransom notes, possibly bring her home. I love you, mom!"
"Patti does not deserve to be just another case file sitting in a rusty file."

Deputy Hendrickson says there is "No Foul Play" in Patty's disappearance.

Larry Pressley Facts:
Fact:      Larry Pressley (boyfriend who was on hike with Patti when she disappeared) was the last person to see Patti.
Fact:      Larry Pressley and other unknowns were seen by an off-duty firefighter leaving Angela's property within 8 days of her disappearance. The unknown individuals were driving a flat bed truck filled with Angela's property; and, Pressley was riding her Harley. The question has been asked "Do you suppose that they knew she was not coming back?"
Fact:      Larry Pressley chased the firefighter in what appears to be an effort to intimidate him, but backed off when he discovered he was being video taped on the firefighters cell phone.
Fact:      Larry Pressley and the unknowns were not seen again by the firefighter but the cell phone video of this confrontation is posted on YouTube for all to see. Go to Video
Fact:      Alan (Patti's Son) was involved in a legal battle 8 days after his mother disappeared to stop Patty's boyfriend, Larry Pressley from removing all of her belongings from her house.
As Alan pointed out, they should have been on the mountain looking for Patty instead of removing her belongings from her home.
Deputy Hendrickson does not believe there is any foul play in Patty's disappearance. "If there was any evidence of foul play, we would have seen it," said Hendrickson.

Kidnapped?

Alan (Patti's son) corresponded with the alleged kidnapper a few more times and turned the information into the FBI.
He grew to the conclusion that it was a scam, after seeing his mom referred to as a him, and the emails were originating from Ghana, and they were requesting $25,000 up front before they would send a video of his mother.
"Frankly, I wouldn't do anything without approval of sheriff's office and FBI. It's their ballgame, I have to trust in the fact that these people are well trained and they know what they are doing," said Alan.
Alan will continue to search for his mom, as he has continued to do since she went missing, because, as Alan said, "…she'd be looking for me. She would never stop."
Footnote: Alan was involved in a legal battle 8 days after his mother disappeared to stop Patty's boyfriend, Larry Pressley from removing all of her belongings from her house. As Alan pointed out, they should have been on the mountain looking for Patty instead of removing her belongings from her home.
Deputy Hendrickson does not believe there is any foul play in Patty's disappearance. "If there was any evidence of foul play, we would have seen it," said Hendrickson.

MISSING
Copied from http://www.findpattikrieger.com/

65 year old Skagit County resident Patricia "Patti" Krieger went missing on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 while hiking on Sauk Mountain - near Rockport, Washington.
Patti had been hiking with her boyfriend (Larry Pressley), her Rottweiler (Bear), James Pressley, Nichole Gardner, Troy Robinson, Chrissy (Jones) Bumgarner, and Matt Robinson.
They had been on the mountain that day to spread the ashes of Larry's deceased parents who had passed away several months earlier.
Circumstance Leading Up To Patti's Disappearance:
The group Patti was hiking with says that Patti became emotional after the ceremony and that she headed down a different trail than the rest of the hikers.
They say they figured the trails would reconnect and that they would meet Patti and her dog Bear back at the trail head.
Patti and Bear never showed up. Her cell phone and driver's license were found to be in possession of the individuals that she was hiking with and it is unclear if there were any other personal items in Patti's possession at the time of her disappearance.
The Search For Patti
Search and rescue teams, from four counties, were brought in and over 50 searchers scoured the mountain looking for Patti and came up with nothing.
The next day, the Skagit County Sheriffs office brought in a helicopter with F.L.I.R technology and they too were unable to locate Patti.  Twenty Six days later,
Patti's dog  Bear was found near mile marker four on Sauk Mountain Road.
Media
Patty Krieger was last seen about 1 p.m. on Saturday October 2, 2010 while with her family.
Her family said Krieger may have been distraught after their group hiked to the top of Sauk Mountain to spread the ashes of two loved ones who recently died.
As they were coming down from the summit she turned onto a different trail.
The group yelled for her to come back, but then let her go -- thinking the other trail hooked back up -- but it doesn't.
Family said on the way down, Patty became emotional.
She and her 100-pound Rottweiler named Bear veered onto another trail, ignoring their calls to come back.
Since then, Krieger’s family, fiancé and the Skagit County rescue team combed rough terrain with search dogs while a Navy chopper searched from the air.
BEAR FOUND   Bear, miraculously walked off the mountain more than three weeks after the two had disappeared.
ROCKPORT, Wash. - A missing Rottweiler dog that vanished along with its owner nearly a month ago on the Sauk Mountain trail has been found, officials say.
The dog, named "Bear," was with Patty Krieger, 65, of Mount Vernon when she became separated from friends while on a hike Oct. 2.
Neither Krieger nor her dog had been seen since - despite an extensive search in the days after her disappearance and continuing searches by her son, Alan Patterson.
Then, on Wednesday, a Rockport resident spotted a Rottweiler that was suspected to be Bear, said Will Reichardt of the Skagit County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies took possession of the dog, which was underweight and malnourished, and confirmed that it was Bear.
The Rottweiler has been taken to a veterinarian and is now on a special diet to regain his strength and overall health.
The Krieger family has been notified of the dog's discovery.
Meanwhile, Patty Krieger remains missing and the investigation into her disappearance continues, Reichardt said.
She was last seen about 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 as she was hiking with friends. The group had hiked to the top of Sauk Mountain to spread the ashes of two loved ones who recently died.
As they were coming down from the summit Krieger turned onto a different trail. The group yelled for her to come back, but then let her go - thinking the other trail hooked back up - but it doesn't.
"We called to her - she looked right at us," says Nichole Gardner, who was hiking right alongside Krieger on Saturday.
Krieger is not an experienced hiker and was not dressed for cold overnight temperatures.

EXTORTION - RANSOM DEMAND
Missing woman’s son receives another ominous e-mail
Updated 06:48 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011

The son of missing woman Patti Krieger says he has received another e-mail from a mysterious sender who claims he's holding Krieger for ransom.

The latest message was sent early Saturday morning to an e-mail address that had been set up for tips in the disappearance of Krieger, who vanished on Oct. 2, 2010 while hiking with friends on Sauk Mountain.

"You think you are smart ?. Think again. Your mama think you are a smart kid but could not help it than crying her eyes out saying 'I would have done it for you son but you chose to keep my money and have me dead'. You think i will be so stupid to give out my exact location for the money transfer. hahahaha. The Ghana thing is fake boy. Grow up," the e-mail said.

Krieger's son, Alan Patterson, received a similar message last Sunday with the subject line "Patty is alive."

"Patty is alive though seem depressed lately and need you to decide her fate by picking any of these below options," the email began. "OPTION A: Do you miss her more than you would miss your hardly earned $250,000 if yes, making available the money within the next 12 hours will have you reunited together well alive. OPTION B: You can forward this email to the Police/Fbi to continue their fruitless investigations and be rest assured that you shall meet again in hell."

The person went to offer mailing a finger as proof that Krieger is in his or her custody.
The e-mail was signed by "The keeper."

Krieger's son said he knew the e-mails were an unfortunate scam.
"One of things that really makes you think, makes you question everything you believe in," Patterson said. "With the amount of time that's passed, it's hard to wrap my head around and get my hopes up that I could see her again."
Subsequent e-mails from "The keeper" asked that Patterson wire $25,000 first to get video proof his mother was alive, and then wire the rest of the $225,000 in four installments, all to a person in Accra, Ghana.
Patterson said the claims did make him wonder just a little bit, as he's always had suspicions his mother was taken off the mountain. Krieger's dog, Bear, miraculously walked off the mountain more than three weeks after the two had disappeared.
"Somebody obviously had enough information about my mom and her situation financially our family to suspect we could come up with a number that large," he said, adding his mom owned six properties, which are barely staying afloat in the current housing market.
"I don't know where they're coming up with this idea that we have a quarter of a million dollars at our disposal."
But even if Patterson had any inkling of following through, he'd defer to law enforcement first.
"Frankly I wouldn't do anything without approval of sheriff's office and FBI," he said.
"It's their ballgame, I have to trust it the fact that these people are well trained, they know what they're doing... I gotta make sure I'm not doing anything to jeopardize their situation."

One Year Later
Concrete Herald
Where is Patti Krieger? One year later, still more questions than answers in missing Sauk Mountain hiker case.By Jason Miller posted 10.10.11
This is a story with very few answers.
We know that Patti Krieger went hiking on Sauk Mountain with a group of six friends on Sat., Oct. 2, 2010. One of those hikers was her then-boyfriend, Larry Pressley. One of the purposes of the hike was to spread the ashes of Pressley’s deceased parents.
After the hikers summited, scattered the ashes, and began their descent, Pressley stated that Krieger became upset and took a different trail down the mountain from the rest of the group.
Her dog, a Rottweiler named Bear, went with her. No one else in her party went with her, even though she was 65 at the time, hearing-impaired, and did not have a cell phone or ID with her.
Members of the group later stated they assumed the trails would reconnect and they would meet up with her and Bear at the trailhead.
They never did, and Krieger has not been seen since.
The Searches
Skagit County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) and Skagit County Search and Rescue (SAR) began searching later that day and during the next two days. They were aided by Whatcom, Snohomish, and King County Search and Rescue teams. There were search dogs. The SCSO brought in a helicopter with FLIR (thermal imaging) technology.
        They found nothing.
On Oct. 4, SCSO suspended the search, stating they didn’t believe Krieger was on the mountain.
“Early on we did a thorough search of all areas that were conceivably reached in the time period she was initially missing,” said Chief Deputy Tom Molitor with the SCSO in a Sept. 30 interview. “We were comfortable with the extent of the search and the thoroughness of it.”
Krieger’s family members, friends, and co-workers from the Burlington Fred Meyer—where she worked—are less convinced she is no longer on the mountain.
Chris Nelson, a journeyman food clerk at Fred Meyer whom Krieger hired 16 years ago, began a “Find Patti Krieger” Facebook page and has coordinated vigils and rallies to keep her name top of mind among the general public.
Another friend, Bud Carr, has coordinated numerous searches with Nelson, spending hundreds of hours scouring the slopes of Sauk Mountain.
Krieger’s son, Alan Patterson, and other family members also have spent long days— sometimes risking life and limb— combing back roads and overgrown trails for any sign of Krieger.
Few searchers believe Krieger is still alive; they simply want to find her body and reach some kind of closure to the ordeal.
Leads getting thin
Credible leads have dwindled since Krieger went missing, and the rumor mill—especially on Facebook—is compounding the problem, said Patterson.
“Facebook has been an Achilles heel in this situation. It’s been giving info to every-body; it’s like a poker game where you can see the other guy’s cards,” he said. “I’ve heard some pretty hellacious rumors.”
Patterson openly points the finger at Pressley, suspecting foul play.
Patterson encountered Pressley on Sauk Mountain Rd. two days after Krieger’s disappearance, a fact that he finds suspicious.
“What was Larry Pressley doing up there alone, shortly after she went missing?
Some of the best profiling says that 99 percent of people who commit crimes where there’s a body to be disposed of—99 percent of the time, they go back to where the body is.
“One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that Larry knows where my mom’s remains are, and what happened to her on that day,” said Patterson.
No charges have been filed against Pressley.
Molitor said the investigation into Krieger’s disappearance is ongoing.

The Curious Case of Brock Holmes...(taken from FB page)

On October 7, 2009, Brock Holmes was picked up at his residence 28109 Old Owen Rd, Monroe by Gary Wheelock, Clint Wheelock, Cameron Johnson, and possibly Clint’s off and on girlfriend Delmise. They left Brock’s home around 4:30-5:00PM. The CrimeStopper Posters have it WRONG! Brock was wearing a long sleeve dark blue shirt with white stripes down the sleeves, cargo style blue jeans and brown shoes. He had his ipod, cell phone, and $150.00 on him. The group went to Bubbas road house and eventually was kicked out due to Brock putting Clint in a head lock, Cameron said it was a playful headlock, but the bartenders didn’t believe that. They went over to the Dutch Cup restaurant and proceeded to play pool in the bar. A woman stated that she saw Brock attempting to calm the group down so they didn’t get kicked out again. They group supposedly left the bar at approximately 12pm and went to the Wheelock residence, 24702 or 24703 Florence Acres Rd., Monroe. According to the mothe
