Woman's body found in remote Clallam County wilderness Investigators believe the woman found in the Olympic National Forest was the victim of a homicide. Police aren't saying much about the discovery except that the body is that of a woman and she appears to be the victim of a homicide.  Investigators won't say how she was killed, whether she was clothed or how old she appears to be. They did tell KING 5 the woman doesn't appear to have been dead for very long. Her body was found off Forest Service Road 28 near the town of Blyn, about 25 miles southeast of Port Angeles. At about 9:15 a.m., deputies said they received a call from a contractor who reported finding the remains in vacant lot on 9th Street East near Evergreen Point. >> See photos of the investigation Content Continues Below Deputies said crews were in the process of clearing a lot where an abandoned mobile home once stood and found a trash or recycling bin, emptied it out and found the remains inside, according to investigators. “We are looking at this as a homicide,” said Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman detective Ed Troyer. Troyer said a preliminary examination indicates the skeleton appears to be that of a female but said that has not been confirmed by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. According to the missing persons data base Namus.gov, there are currently 678 open missing persons cases in Washington state, 111 of those cases are in Pierce County where the body was found and 53 of the Pierce County cases involve women. Troyer said at this stage, investigators don't even know how long the body had been on this land. “We still have to identify who the victim is and then start from the beginning and find out how that person went missing or how they came to be here,” said Troyer. Monroe Body Found SundayMONROE — Detectives from the Snohomish Sheriff’s department are investigating the discovery of a body found near a burned-out vehicle in Monroe on Saturday. Police said that a citizen called 911 to report finding the vehicle and body on private property in the 7300 block of Woods Creek Road about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Police have not released information on the identity of the deceased or if there is any connection to the burned-out vehicle. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy
